Animals and their Moms! (Number 1)

It’s Mother’s Day and I have one of the grandsons staying with me. Some one on one time often leads to some special conversations and a look at the child without the influences of others. This morning he wanted to know something about an orangutan.

We went exploring to find something new we did not know about an orangutan. We didn’t know much so we learned a lot. Did you know that orangutans only have only one infant at a time. The youngster often nurses until they are three years old. They are comfortable staying around Mom. Even if any infants arrives some will allow the older one to stay three years. There seems to be no big rush to move them out on their own.
