Angel’s Wings

I am a child of God and I believe that there are angels among us. They take so many forms; a husband that acknowledges what I love and allows me to be me; a caring nurse; an awesome mentor and teacher; the incredible parents that I had and hope that you had also; the dog that licks my hand when I need it the most; the friends that are always there no matter the time or problem – and they still love me even knowing my darkest side!  They are all mirroring my Creator.  And it occurred to me this afternoon, as I spent time with one of my favorite creatures, that the angels lend their wings to the swans until they need to be angels once again.

I really think that I am on to something here. Think of the folks that give all their time to drug rehabs to step in and try to help addicts rebuild their lives. What about the teacher that takes someone under their “wing” – there’s that word again! – and makes sure that they find their fullest potential. I think of first responders that put their very lives in harms way to save others. The caller to children services that make sure that a child is not living in a situation that is dangerous to them.

The list goes on and on and on. These folks – God in skin – have to store those awesome wings somewhere. Why not with my beloved swans?  Think about it.

  1. I believe there are angels among us, but I think they are not easily recognizable. As well, I think some of them are not even aware of that who they really are.
Besides, you also remind me on some happenings that in some way have something in common with your story.
And yes – I love swans too! 🙂
