I am sure you have heard of the slogan “Birds of a feather flock together” when it deals with humans likes with their favorite objects in life.
Nick Abbott who lives in Maine was born deaf which has not stopped him from having a heart of compassion for dogs that needed his assistance in times of need.
Thanks to the social media site Facebook, Nick was able to learn about the story of a puppy named “Emerson” who was at the North Florida Rescue Maine animal shelter on the verge of death due to seizure and Parvo which would made Emerson a difficult dog for anyone besides Nick to adopt him.
After Emerson was cured of his maladies that almost ended his life as a puppy who was most likely abused when he was younger, Nick realized that he was the perfect match for Emerson when he went to see him at the shelter, Nick saw that his relationship with Emerson was a match since thanks to the love that Emerson showed his potential master that he the chosen one to share his life with for the rest of his lifetime.
Emerson is what you would call a fast learner since he is learning sign language from his Nick to obey his commands.
Talk about a match made in Maine between Nick and Emerson who share a common bond despite both of being hard of hearing which does not prevent them from enjoying life.
You have a good point since Emerson cannot see the hand signals from his owner in another room.
This is a wonderful story. I guess it was good for both of them who found each other
Dogs have this sense to know if someone likes them or not.
Every dog that I have had was one of a kind in terms of personality.
Such a wonderful story dog for the deaf this works well for both
I do not know much about dog relationships to strangers that much. However Emerson seemed to like Nick to be his owner at first sight which made their friendship even better.
So nice that they found each other
That is true since the relationship between Emerson and Nick was based on mutual friendship.
this only works when Emerson can see his master’s hands
That is true since I have never had a dog that had a handicap like Emerson before.
if he wants Emerson, how does he call?
I guess he uses hand signals or he whistles at Emerson who might be able to hear some noises.
right, but when emerson is in another room hand signals are useless
What a great story, they were made for each other.
My pleasure to share these wonderful stories of pets being adopted.
I saw this on the news, thanks for adding more details!
My pleasure to share this story since one of my former dogs who was adopted by my relatives in 1988 at an animal shelter in Metairie was also an abused dog by his previous owner who became our watchdog for 10 years named Thunder who was a mixed German Shepherd and Black Labrador.
🙂 sounds like a good friend to have had!
Thunder I was a very good friend I had for his lifetime.
I have now had 6 best friends over the year. Each one was a unique addition to my life.
