5 Amazing Facts About Cane Corso

Hello there. Today we will show some interesting facts about this magnificent breed. Cane Corso is an Italian dog breed that is closely related to the Neapolitan Mastiff. For many centuries, it has been valued throughout Italy as a guardian, hunter and loving companion. As a large and athletic breed, the Cane Corso is known for being affectionate to their own and bonding closely with children. Enjoy in these facts.

Variety Of Colors

This dog breed comes in a wide variety of colors, including the shades of fawn, black, gray, blue, brindle, and chestnut. Some of the Cane Corso breed has distinctive white markings on the back, throat, chest, toes, and chin. And in case the dogs are solid fawn or red in coloring, the Cane Corso need to have a black or gray facial mask that cannot be seen extending beyond the eyes.

Grooming Tips

A well know fact is that dogs should only be bathed once every three months, but the Cane Corso may need to be cleaned more frequently - about every 8 to 12 weeks -  because their short coat tends to produce a distinctive “doggy” odor. Also, the large ears of the Cane Corso are prone to infection, so they need to be checked and cleaned with a cotton ball regularly. Brush the teeth at least 2 or 3 times a week to remove tartar buildup and the bacteria that lurk inside it. Daily brushing may be even better if you want to prevent gum disease and bad breath.

Highly Intelligent Breed

Combine that with his bossy nature, and it’s easy to see how he could come to dominate the household without firm leadership and boundaries. He will test you to see how far he can go. It’s important to let him know from the start what the rules are and to ensure that all family members understand the rules as well. Institute a “nothing in life is free” policy by requiring him to perform a command before rewarding him with a meal, treats, or a toy.
